We need to recognize that body diversity is important in our society and that there is no one-size-fits-all definition of health. Takeaways Weight-centric training and the focus on the number on the scale can be harmful and perpetuate diet culture. Health is multifaceted and cannot be determined solely by weight or body size. Body diversity is important, and there is no one-size-fits-all definition of health. Connections and relationships play a significant role in overall health and well-being. BMI is not an accurate or reliable measure of health, and body fat percentage should be considered instead. Disordered eating can manifest in various ways and is not limited to extreme cases. Determining health and wholeness should involve regular nourishment, movement, good relationships, and self-care. The goal is to prioritize holistic health and freedom from the constraints of diet culture. ⋇ Convoy of Hope - Empowering Women and Girls Together Donate here ⋇ Order Bianca’s new book GRIT DON’T QUIT ⋇ The Grit Don’t Quit Bible Study is now available. I mean, I remember one day in the sixth grade, my teacher put me on the scale in front of the whole class.

1:35.3

And that was the first time I was like, oh, this number means something, but does it really?

1:41.3

And so, yeah, we learn from a really early age. I mean, we see people doing that in schools, even though we know it can bring kids to harm. So yes, the scale, the tracking, the apps, the everything.
