Welcome back to another episode of Reality Life with Kate Casey.

Hope that you guys have had a great week and you've been watching plenty of TV shows.

I love, love, love a show on TLC called Long Lost Family.

I've talked about it before.

Basically, it's a show which follows people who have for one reason or another experience

a long term separation from a member of their family and they want to be reunited with

them.

Many times these shows have people reunited and they sort of like sugarcoat it.

Isn't this fantastic?

They finally get to be with each other, but this show really shows what happens when

people are reunited and sometimes it's not a great situation.

In fact, they have a spinoff called What Happens Next, Long Lost Family, What Happens Next.

And they go a couple of weeks afterwards, maybe even months and check on people to find

out what happened in their relationship.

And it's not all great.

I had an aunt who gave a baby up for adoption and they have a very difficult relationship.

I mean, they haven't spoken for many, many years, but it's like there's this honeymoon

phase where you're excited to reconnect and then you sort of peel the layers back of your

relationship and it really reveals things sometimes about one another that you don't like

so much.

And sometimes you can't get past the fact that there was an issue of abandonment.
