So welcome to the Unashamed podcast. We're going to do something a little different today. We pre-recorded this episode, but we wanted to step in and offer up our condolences on a day like this, 9-11, but also the loss of Charlie Kurt yesterday. And I don't want to call it a tragic loss. I mean, this was a heinous crime against humanity.

And our hearts are absolutely broken.

And so we're in prayer for Erica, his wife, and for his beautiful children, anybody that has seen the pictures of his family, I mean, all of our hearts are broken, right?

But we just want to acknowledge right here that we are mourning,

that we are heartbroken, and we don't have a lot of words to make sense of it. We do believe

that the God is sovereign. We do believe that King Jesus still reigns, and we believe that Charlie

is at rest with Jesus right now. And so I'm just going to offer up a prayer before we get

into the pre-recorded episode that was recorded before the events that happened.

But I'm going to offer up a prayer for his family.

And I would encourage you guys just to get on your knees today and do the same.

And so if you would, just say, let's just spend a moment in prayer.

And you guys can bow with me and pray.

Lord Jesus, we, we we our hearts are heavy uh we saw the events yesterday and um it hits this this one hits close to home god um we do pray god for for the entire kirk family we pray for

erika this morning uh today, as she is without a

husband now, God, and we pray for her children. We pray for our country, Lord. We pray the justice

will be served. We pray, God, that the perpetrator of this crime will be caught and brought to

justice, God.

But we also are thankful for Charlie's work.

We're thankful for the bold stand that he took, Lord, in this country,

and on the front lines of a lot of big cultural issues, God.

And so we're thankful for what he did, God. We know that his service to you will not end here, God, but it's only the beginning, Lord.

We pray for a new generation to rise up, Lord.
