Good, James. Thanks for having me on your show.

Rich, you have a deep dark past and we're going to get into that.

But also you've done some amazing things since you've done what I'll describe as choosing yourself.

But I was describing earlier to my 13 year old who I was going to be talking to today.

And I say I told her you wrote all these ultra marathons. Maybe you can define first what an ultra marathon is.

Yeah, sure. For those that don't know an ultra marathon is essentially any running race that's longer than a marathon.

So longer than 26.2 miles, but after that there's all kinds of distances.

There's 50 miles. There's 100 miles. There's 135, 150 mile runs.

I actually specialize in ultra distance triathlon, which are triathlons that are longer than an Iron Man.

If people know, if you're if you're guessing what an Iron Man is.

So tell me about the five you did in seven days in Hawaii.

How many how many miles did you cover just with your raw physicality?

Yeah, that was something I did in 2010, that a friend of mine and I tackled and we called it epic five.

And essentially what it was was attempting to do an Iron Man a day, five Iron Man's on five wine islands and complete it in five days.

And an Iron Man is a very long triathlon, which over the course of one day you swim 2.4 miles.

You ride your bike 112 miles and then you celebrate by running a marathon.

So we did five of those in a row traveling island to island to island. It took us a little bit longer than five days, but we got it done under a week.

Oh my God. And so Rich, just to be clear, you're my age.
