God’s Word is full of promises to you, and all of them are yours for the taking. While he could have just handed them right to us, instead he has designed it so we must learn to take hold of them for ourselves. God knew that learning to take hold of promises for ourselves would help us develop the muscles we need to not just take hold of them, but hold onto them. 0:36.1	out that God actually had promises for me. Now I grew up in a very sort of religious

0:47.7	that God was always really angry with me and that he was like this big old guy in the
0:52.4	sky with this huge beard and this big stick just
0:55.1	waiting for me to do something wrong which my mother told me was very often and that he would just
0:59.2	be waiting to go hit me over the head and go and like laugh, busted, you know, there you go again.
1:03.3	So I kind of spent my whole life thinking God's really, really angry.
1:07.8	And if I just don't make him angry, I'm going to be okay.
1:09.9	And it didn't help that some of the people around me would often say,
1:13.0	you know, don't do that, God will be angry with you,
1:15.4	don't do that, God won't be happy with you.
1:17.2	And it was like, oh my word, you know, everything that I am,
