And another great day in this greatest nation on God's Green Earth.

A great day when all of a sudden there are new efforts for peace, or at least for a ceasefire in the Middle East.

And the efforts are being led by the United States of America.

Secretary of State Anthony Blinken said today that the U.S. has submitted a draft resolution

to the UN Security Council that calls for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza that is tied to the release of hostages held by

Hamas. Both Israel and Hamas are facing pressure to reach a deal to free the hostages. There are about

130 of them left and to start a truce in Gaza, where over 30,000 people, according to the Hamas Ministry of Health,

which is almost a contradiction for the kind of way that they govern.

But the Hamas Ministry of Health says there have been 30,000 Palestinians killed.

What's fascinating about this is finally, finally, our media are catching up with the fact that that figure of 30,000

includes Hamas fighters who have been killed up to the rate of at least 13,000 actual fighters, combatants, terrorists,

who have been killed while fighting Israelis and imposing casualties on the IDF.

The first detailed negotiations in months are now underway, apparently, involving

Hamas through Gutter, and Blinken, the Secretary of State, has said an interview with Al-Hadat

in Jetta, Saudi Arabia, that an agreement was getting closer and the gaps are narrowing, according to a transcript

released by the State Department. And I think an agreement is very much possible, said Secretary

Blinken. The big picture, Blinken said during the interview that the Biden administration was pressing for an immediate ceasefire tied to freeing the hostages.

Now, what they have not made clear entirely is, okay, will this be a temporary ceasefire?

Will it be for a matter of weeks?

Or will there be some kind of ongoing settlement that could actually lead to an agreement that would lead to the creation of a Palestinian state, the so-called two-state solution,
