Summary

Jesus has tasked the family of faith to occupy the earth until he comes back, and we need to take that mission seriously, using the gifts that He has given us to multiply His kingdom. We see an example of this in the "Parable of the Talents," which tells the story of a nobleman who entrusts his servants with five talents, asking them to invest the money while he is away. When the nobleman finally returns, he is a king, and rewards the servants who invested their money wisely by multiplying their talents. When the king gets to the last servant, who had done nothing with what he was given due to fear, the king casts him away. As representatives of heaven, we are given a similar task -- to use what God has given us for the goodness of the Lord and His Kingdom, so we must not stand idly by out of fear.
