0:32.0	activities. He's a writer. In his real world, he's a doctor. Based on the number of dog kennels I see
0:42.2	in his yard here, he's definitely a dog lover. Former Brown Bear guide in Alaska, private pilot,
0:51.4	and probably if you ask him exactly what he is, he'd probably say he's a hunter. And if any of you
0:59.2	are wondering who this is, I'll tell you right now, it's Don Thomas. And Don has become a little more
1:06.9	of a known name in the hunting and conservation world in the last three weeks than probably
1:11.7	he expected. So Don, thanks for accepting my invitation to come on to the podcast and
1:20.8	talk. My pleasure, Randy. It's been what, three weeks since your hunting season got
1:29.4	three weeks to the day. And if it happens again, I hope it doesn't happen during hunting season.
1:36.7	Well, for those of you who are wondering what we're referring to, Don, for I guess 14, 15 years,
1:44.4	you had the back column of the DU-mag, ducks unlimited magazine, correct? That's correct, Randy.
1:49.6	And you were, and before we even start, Don, you've made a point that, Randy, if I do this,
1:57.7	I want to make sure people know this isn't about me grinding an axe. It isn't about the Don Thomas story.
2:03.8	It's about bigger, bigger issues. Absolutely correct, Randy. I work with a number of magazines.
2:10.4	I have a lot of outlets for my writing. I'll miss the back page column in DU. But this is certainly
2:17.1	not about me or a job. I think that events revealed some underlying problems in the outdoor
2:26.0	and conservation community that affect everyone who hunts or fishes for that matter in the United States.
