My entitled mother demands to check my bank account just so she can track my spending.

And now after being pressured by her to give over my bank information,

I am now feeling so anxious and incredibly stuck, and I now seriously don't know what to do.

Here's what happened. I'm an 18 year old female and I opened my own bank account a few months ago

under my own name. Before I got my first paycheck, my mom told me that she'd like to check my purchases

and see how much money I spent on the account.

Now, another problem is that I do have to give her some money for other reasons.

I bought a new phone which was second hand and

when my mom asked me how much I spent on it I lied and said that it was $300 but

it was actually about $420. I earned $1,400 monthly and yesterday she asked me how much money I have left and I said that I have $800 left which is true because I had to pay my mom $60 that I owed her. I also use the money to buy things that I really

need. I wanted to buy the important things now. And I do that so I don't have to worry about

getting my second paycheck. The problem is that I sell old clothes online

because I need as much money as possible to move out of this sickening household, but when I sent the

packages to my clients, I was too lazy to go to the bank and withdraw the money for the post.

So instead I just use my card.

Yesterday my mom wanted to see my bank account and asked me if I got the statement of my account because I tried to get it but it says that I have no statement.

But she simply doesn't believe me though, but I did not want to show her my online banking account.

I just feel so uncomfortable showing her what I spend my money on because honestly

it's my privacy. I also don't understand why she feels so entitled to know. It is my money and I

did work hard for it, but the problem is is that my mom is a huge drama queen.

Saying no will only give us more trouble. But I also don't want to explain myself because I really think that I don't need to. I honestly
