talk about today starts with the question of whether you are taking the standard deduction or

itemizing. So for those not familiar

with the U.S. tax code, you can either choose to say, I'm going to subtract this amount of money,

the standard deduction from my income, and not pay taxes on that amount, or I will itemize.

And by itemizing, I mean including all the things that you can deduct from your income. That's state

local taxes, mortgage interest, charitable giving, medical expenses, and a bunch of other things.

And if those things are greater than the standard deduction, then you would itemize on your taxes.

And so that's a really important question because it dictates whether some of these strategies,
