But there are times I realize I'm coming up short,

The last time I was online dating, I got a like from a man we're calling Matthew.

I'm retired after almost 25 years in the Coast Guard and then a position with the federal government.

I'm active in email lobbying Congress each day on veterans issues.

Most people consider me to be a nice guy, but not afraid to speak his mind.

I'm also a bit bookish, perhaps even nerdy.

That is just the truth of the matter.
