like many grateful dead fans all grateful dead fans i spent the weekend grieving the loss of bob weir a guy

who has been a big part of my life since really 1986 1987 the only band that i ever loved is the

grateful dead the only band i would travel to California to Las Vegas, across the country,

anywhere they played, I'd go see them. That's how much I love this band. And that's how much

I loved Bob Weir. I told people who are associated with the Grateful Dead and Debting Company,

after telling them that I was sorry for their loss,

that Bob Weir did something fairly amazing.

He gave not one, but two generations of my family separated by 30 plus years

some of the greatest memories of our lifetimes he did and bob's final act may have been his

greatest act.

By forming dead in company, what Bob was able to do was take the music that I loved,

and he allowed me to share it with my daughters and with my family.

Him, John Mayer, Jeff, O'Teill, Bill, Mickey, and it was fantastic.

It was such a blessing because now what I found, and I'll tell you a quick story before we get to Bob Weir, because he was nice enough to sit down with us.

And it was the thrill of a lifetime for me.

I remember telling Billy the one guest I would want on above any other is Bob Weir.

And on February 17th, 2002, that man, a busy man was gracious enough to come on a podcast called Stupodity and sit down with me

for 30 to 40 minutes. And I was in awe. I was starstruck. But it quickly became apparent to me

that Bobby was just as grateful to me as I was to him.

And that's what the Grateful Dead, and that's what Bob Weir is all about.

When I first started playing the Grateful Dead in my house, my daughters were young.

My wife had barely heard of them.
