Commuting. If you were among the 42% of Americans working from home as of last June, that word may be a

distant memory for you. But with a vaccine for the coronavirus being rolled out, many in the corporate

world are hopeful that by the middle of this year, folks will be safely back in the workplace,

and that means getting back in the car, back on the bus, and back on the train. Or on a scooter.

That's right.

Micromobility devices, those lightweight electric transporters like e-scooters,

were having a moment right before the pandemic sent most workers home.

And when offices shut down, companies like Lyme, which rents both scooters and bicycles to commuters,

suffered. The New York Times reported that consumer spending on scooter rentals

fell the most of all modes of transportation in the first several weeks of the pandemic.
