So I was on Sid this morning, every Thursday I do that, and we have a good rapporte as you know and it

came up that long island where I live is now trending Republican while New York City stays Democrat.

But it isn't about party politics in New York City.

And that's what a lot of people don't understand.

It's not the Democratic Party that's driving these votes.

It gets a little complicated, but here's my hypothesis.

In order to support capitalism and self-reliance,

two of the building blocks of the Republican Party.

You've got to have skin in the game.

You got to want to succeed economically and that's what capitalism is that you can start

with nothing as I literally did. I was penniless when I came out of Boston University and

started my journalism career and you can build yourself up to affluence. That pathway remains open in America. You had to work hard. I have.

But it's there. Capitalism provides that. The second thing is ownership. So if you own a home, even a car,

if you have possessions that you value, you want to protect those possessions.

You want to protect that home, your property.
