Tesla shareholders have approved an astonishing pay package that could make the

electric car company's founder and CEO Elon Musk a trillionaire if he can deliver a future

filled with self-driving taxes and humanoid robots. It could be the largest corporate payout

in history. And while critics have said it's an absurd figure,

eclipsing entire country's GDPs, Mr Musk's backers say it demonstrates Tesla's confidence

that he can raise the firm's market value significantly over a period of years and be a leader

in the new era of artificial intelligence.
