Daily Signals Top News for Tuesday August 13th. Former President Donald Trump sat down with Tesla CEO and owner of X Elon Musk last night for an interview.

The two hour long conversation that was streamed on X started about 40 minutes late because of what Musk said was a massive

hack attempt on the site. The Daily Signals Fred Lucas tuned in last night.

Fred what were some main takeaways from the conversation?

Well, one thing I thought was pretty interesting and it didn't get as much coverage immediately

was that, and it was the talk of a government efficiency commission.

And it's something that Elon Musk really stressed any kind of pin Trump down on this.

A lot of Conservatives have talked about one of Trump's weak points when he was president in the first term was that he was not a very strong fiscal conservative spent a lot of money

Signed a lot of big budget bills and so forth.

He has not, I mean, Trump's been consistently against any entitlement reforms and so forth.

So we did see something, I thought that was interesting in terms of an interview from the right which

Trump was really pinned down on that because Musk brought us the ideal up of an efficiency, talked about how it was government spending

that's driving inflation.

He brought it up a couple of times before Trump seemed to sort of commit to it.

And then Musk said, if you do something like that,

I would like to be a part of that.

And that's when Trump said,

you're great at making cuts, you're great at firing people, and so forth.

So that got a little bit more of attention the next day.

But I thought in terms of a policy proposal, that was something that was interesting that jumped out.

And Musk pledged his support for Trump while discussing the assassination attempt last night.
