it is day 135 of the second Trump administration, and the Senate is now under intense pressure

from the president to pass the mega bill with his top domestic priorities. Politico says

Senate committees could start rolling out their parts of the bill as early as this week.

But already, some of Trump's biggest supporters on the Hill, the Republicans, are his most vocal critics.

Today, Kentucky Senator Rand Paul was not shy about his issues with the bill.

It'll be the first time that conservatives lose their moral high ground by voting for a debt ceiling increase, and not a small debt ceiling increase.

This will be historically the greatest increase in the debt ceiling ever in our history at a time when we're having trouble selling the 10-year bond.

We're having interest rates at 5%.

I think it's a mistake because once conservative

Republicans vote for this, there is no conservative opposition. There is no, they will own it.

The debt will be owned by the Republicans.

President Trump hit back on social media writing the following, quote, Rand Paul has very little

understanding of the bill, especially the

tremendous growth that is coming.

But Paul has said that at least three of his fellow senators agree with him.

Trump's biggest donor and closest ally.
