1:10.8 | The reason why you were on my radar in the first place, Dr. Woolfork, is that I saw that you taught a class at UVA, |
1:18.7 | related to Game of Thrones and I thought we could swap class stories. So I used this book once for an ethics class and I loved it. |
1:34.0 | But I want to hear about your class and how it was framed and really how the students received it. |
1:40.4 | It was a wonderful class. I taught it for about five years and what we concentrated on was because it was an attrunkated semester. |
1:49.6 | I did this in the summer session, which is just for a week. So in the first week of the class, we read the first novel. |
1:56.8 | That was the first five days and there was a quiz every day and there was a great rich conversation of the first novel. |
2:04.4 | And then I paired the novel with secondary scholarly sources. We looked at about 30 episodes of the HBO series. |

2:17.5 | It was pretty great because a lot of students that they were very dedicated whether they had seen the show before or not seen it before. |

2:37.0 | But I'm not a big fan of just lecturing. I much prefer to have discussions centered student driven learning. |
