I'm Mike Dempsey, along with Football Guy's own Bob Harris. Week 2 is underway. A couple of

developments on Thursday night football we need to talk about. Yeah, Mike, Packers' wide receiver,

Jaden Reed injured his shoulder on the first series of Green Bay's 27-18 win over the commanders.

Reed landed hard on his right shoulder on a tackle by Commander's defensive back, Kwan Martin,

whose weight was fully on the receiver as he landed on the turf.

Reid appeared to be in considerable pain.

He was taken to the locker room for x-rays and was ruled out just after halftime.

We'll be watching for more on that today.

Adding insult to injury, Reed had a 39-yard touchdown catch negated by a holding penalty.

On the other side of the ball, commanders running back Austin Echler suffered a non-contact lower

leg injury in the fourth quarter.

Echler was away from the play after delivering a chip lock when he went down to the turf with no one around him as he tried to change directions with about five minutes left. Echler could put no weight on his right leg before being carted off the sideline. The commanders quickly ruled him out with an Achilles injury. Assuming this is a season-ending tear, Bill Krosky Merritt, who had a quiet night playing

second fiddle tackler, Jeremy McNichols and Chris Rodriguez, Jr., who is inactive for a second

week in a row, or the remaining backs on the roster.

All right, let's get to the rest of today's item.

Brock Bowers this week, the Raiders tight end, did not practice yesterday.

He was observed during the stretching period without a helmet, was asked about his availability. According to Ryan McFadden of ESPN, said, I'm not sure. We'll see how it's feeling throughout the week, but I'm hoping to play. He's dealing with a knee issue. Doesn't sound great. It's also the latest game of the week. It's the second of the two games on Monday night football. So what do we know? Is that the extent of it right now? Yeah, pretty much. Head coach Pete Carroll said the team's proceeding as if Fours is going to be able to play, but at this point, there's no guarantee, right? So I will say after, you know, we had the record setting rookie season. He caught five passes then at week one for 103 yards and three quarters. Like, he's not a normal tight end. I'd like to give myself an opportunity to play that if I can. So, you know, two things. We'll watch the practice report today and the final injury report tomorrow. And we'll prepare. Trey Tucker a possibility. Sure. Jada Thornton, a possibility? Maybe. Michael. That's the one. He caught all four of his targets from Gino Smith. Sigmund Bloom, our football guy colleague, has him in his week two sleepers and noted that the charges gave up a long score to Travis Kelsey on a misdirection play. So maybe they can dial something up similar. But I think that's the answer. But like even if it was Tyler Cochlin, I want to have a body available so I could take a chance to get Bowers on the field. All right. The other Monday night game, the Buccaneers and the Houston Texans, Chris Godwin, getting at a little limited work this week, Bob. And hasn't been ruled out officially by Todd Bowles said, you know, we'll see.

I mean, nobody expects him to play.

But it's, that's a great sign if you have Godwin on your roster that he's already doing something in this capacity, regardless of when it comes.

There's this week, next week, a few weeks from now.
