And we're very pleased to welcome the Senior Vice President of the Foundation for Defense

of Democracy's Jonathan Schanser.

We go immediately to Cairo, a troubled land. much in the news because negotiations are said to be

underway or have been about the hostages, about the end of the combat in Gaza.

However, the Philadelphia corridor trumps all of this because we're not

we're unclear Cairo's participation in the smuggling route that has been apparent for many years.

Jonathan, we talk about this often.

Has there been any movement by Cairo whatsoever

on answering the questions about these tunnels that flow from the Sinai to Gaza.

Not a lot of acknowledgement on the part of Cairo.

I just recently wrote a piece with my colleague,

Maryam Wahba, where we actually assess that Cairo may be in violation of the Camp David Accords that it is their job, their responsibility to inform the Israelis and to stop any kind of enemy activity

that may be emanating from their territory. has not happened nor have the Egyptians begun to tackle the many tunnels that the

Israelis have shut down. We've heard today from the IDF that 80% of those tunnels

have been destroyed.
