0:05.6	you're ready to launch into the weekend. It's Friday in case you didn't know and now you do.
0:10.8	Tomorrow is Veterans Day and Veterans Day can be tough for a lot of people.
0:18.0	Personally, I don't even know how to talk about my thoughts on my own personal service, the veteran
0:27.0	community in a manner that I feel is appropriate. I do the best that I can, but I
0:32.4	struggle often and most of the time when I do the best that I can, but I struggle often.
0:33.0	And most of the time when I do talk about it, I think right after the conversation was over,
0:38.0	oh, I wish I would have said this or that.
0:40.0	And in honor of Veterans Day, I wanted to do something that specifically
0:47.7	discussed the community, the impact of service and potentially the impact of things that can be done post service.
0:58.6	I thought one of the best ways to do that was to talk to somebody who was never
1:03.7	actually a soldier but has been reporting on war for the better portion of their
1:08.6	life. His name is Sebastian Younger and I have been a fan of his work for a really long time.
1:14.0	Not only is written work, but I think one of the most accurate documentaries about warfare in the modern era,
1:20.0	specifically Afghanistan and the global war on terror is called
1:24.0	Restrepo. It doesn't paint a picture of warfare, it presents a picture of
1:30.3	warfare and the access that Sebastian and his crew or team had to me is
1:37.8	unprecedented. This is an important conversation and the conversation today
1:42.2	with Sebastian is
1:43.1	actually based around his latest initiative, the Vets Town Hall. I'm not gonna try to
1:47.9	unpack it right now because he unpacks it inside of the episode, but it's a tool and a mechanism for not only veterans, but the communities
1:56.3	that they live inside of to come together, to share, and to hopefully heal.
