We move from the conflict in Europe in Ukraine to the Eastern Mediterranean,

The question is, who's paying attention?

The US apparently has left the Middle East. Can't tell on any given day,

but it sure looks that way when you consider Afghanistan, Iraq, and the questions about the Gulf.

Where is the US power once upon a time?

The new player could be Europe, given how critical the energy resources are out of the Middle East to Europe.

These European powers have turned away from fossil fuel, at least to hear them speak.

Do they appreciate the Eastern Mediterranean as a source of energy they must have over the balance of this century?

Or are they at this point so focused on Ukraine? They don't see what's coming next.
