0:21.3	story from the Moth that I actually heard live a while back at one of the
0:24.7	moth's main stage events in San Francisco.
0:27.7	Yes, Erlon, I remember you were super excited about it and I'm sorry I didn't get to go with you. But let's just explain
0:34.0	the main stage events are where the storytellers work with a director from the
0:37.8	moth to get their story all polished up and sometimes they get to take
0:41.8	these stories on tour.
0:43.0	And you know, Nij, ever since I heard this one,
0:46.0	I've been wanting to share it with our listeners,
0:48.0	so I'm glad we finally have an opportunity to do that.
0:51.0	But before we hear that, we're going to give kind of a like a
0:54.3	moth primer for folks who may not be as familiar with what they do. You and I talk to
0:59.6	Edgar Ruiz Jr. He is the manager at the moth community engagement program.
1:04.3	Before that, he was a host of moth events and he got his start at a moth story
1:09.2	slam in the Bronx where he grew up.
1:11.9	I was a moth fan. I went to a slam one day and I was picked first.
1:17.0	Oh boy. I told a story of really it was one of those emotional stories that I needed to get off my chest and the moth crowd I
