Summary

The Earth is healing. EA Sports' college football video game will one day be in our hands, that is now a fact. Andy and The Athletic's Oklahoma Sooners scribe Jason Kersey have longed for the days of Dynasty Mode (2:00). With everyone caught up in the moment, it's important to revisit how we arrived here (4:00). Assuming we snag a PS5, which player during the game's hiatus do we want to play as the most (12:15)? The guys swap their favorite football video game stories (14:15) before chatting about Oklahoma's recent big name transfers (17:00). Arkansas-Arkansas St. is finally coming to Little Rock, and an obituary for the history books is shared (25:00).

football video game. We don't know exactly when. We don't know exactly how it will look.

But they have said they are bringing back a game. And that is massive, massive news, especially for one

member of our college football staff at the athletic. Our Oklahoma beatwriter Jason Kersey,

0:45.7

he's still got a PlayStation 3 just so he can play NCAA 14. He actually played to celebrate the

news. Jason, what did you think when you heard?

0:56.8

Well, you know, I know we're going to get into this later, but, you know, I, when I started it up the other night, I made a dynasty with Arkansas State randomly and decided to schedule Arkansas because they'll never play.

1:08.4

And then literally the next day they announced that game.

1:11.2

And I didn't know that that was coming. It is the week of hell freezing over it. That's what this is.

1:16.8

I know. I know. But yeah, no, that game, from the time I was probably 13 and I had my old

1:22.7

PlayStation, original PlayStation, and NCAA, until they stopped making it. That was just a huge part of my life.

1:30.4

I mean, I'm one of those guys who had a group of friends in my dorm, my freshman year

1:34.3

college, who played a dynasty together. I was still playing dynasties with my brother and

1:39.7

our friend up until, you know, as an adult covering college football, I was like checking

1:46.0

EA sports website to do my online recruiting when I was on the road to cover real games.

1:51.4

I mean, I love that game. So the other day, like, was the happiest maybe I've been in a long

1:58.2

time, certainly since the beginning of the pandemic. I'll tell you that.

2:02.3

What is the greatest dynasty you've ever created in NCAA football? Because I had a mailbag
