on this edition of the Byron York show

I'm Byron York and on this podcast we don't like to do a lot of chit-chat at the beginning so we go straight to it and our

guest today is George Papadopoulos you have probably heard of him a key figure in the

Trump-Russia investigation. The world heard of him when he pleaded

guilty to one count of lying to the FBI, actually was sentenced to 14 days for doing that. It's not the most master criminal

sentence in the world. But now he is long free of that and has published a new book

called Deep State Target, which you should probably read if you want to find out his story.

He is also, he did an interview with the House of Representatives last year and a 239 page

transcript of it is now public and just absolutely fascinating. So there is a

lot to talk to George Popadopoulos about but first George we want to

welcome you to coming on the Byron York show.

Byron, thank you very much for having me.

Now I have to say your story can at times kind of be like the Maltese Falcon I mean the

plot is so incredibly complicated there are so many characters you don't know who's

doing what you don't know what relation they have to each other

I think the best way to do it is just to have you tell your story chronologically I

think it raises a lot of questions but I'll try not to actually interrupt with those questions

until people actually find out what started to be, how it all happened in order that it did happen.

I think that's the best way for people to try to understand. So if you could,

just tell us as quickly as you can, but I know it's a complicated tale.
