Summary

I was fortunate enough to speak at an event in Arizona this past weekend called Meltdown in the Desert. Public speaking has never been difficult for me, but this was a huge deal for me as it’s the next step for me in my goal to impact the world. After overcoming several setbacks and frustrations, I was able to jump on stage and wow the crowd, some of the audience was even in tears. And what did I talk about? Authentic vulnerability. Listen as I recap the weekend, and walk you through a technique to help you change negative emotions to positive emotions, and ultimately give yourself power in every situation.

So I was fortunate enough to get invited to slash sponsor an event called Meltdown in the Desert put on by my friend

0:24.9

Colby K in Phoenix, Arizona last weekend. What do you guys give you guys a quick

0:30.6

recap of not only how the event went but also more importantly what my

0:34.1

speech was about when I got to come up on stage. Admittedly public speaking is something that has never

0:41.0

bothered me. I've never been nervous about it. I

0:44.4

remember taking speech in high school and giving this demonstrative speech in

0:49.8

which I shaved my leg in front of the whole classroom.

0:54.1

And as a 16 slash 17 year old man,

0:56.7

it was super taboo back then to have shaved legs as a guy.

1:00.1

I thought it was hilarious.

1:01.0

Like didn't bother me at all, sat in front of the class, got the pink

1:03.8

razor out, the female shaving cream lathered up my leg and explained how I was doing it and why I was doing

1:09.2

it and what the strokes meant. And I ended up sitting up there for the whole class shaving

1:12.0

both my legs in front of the

1:13.1

classroom even when I was done speaking. I don't really have that thing that makes me

1:17.4

nervous. It just hasn't truly ever happened so the idea of speaking from Sage

1:22.3

was very exciting to me,

1:23.3

especially on the backside of this podcast. Like I know at this point that I'm being

1:27.1

pulled in a direction, I'll call it from the universe, maybe it's because I'm

1:30.1

finally stepping into my own greatness or what I feel like I've always wanted to do,

1:33.6

and that's make a social impact, like make a change in the world.
