Summary

It’s one thing to be great at giving feedback, but how good are you at receiving it?  For most- hearing what we could’ve done better or where we’ve screwed up is extraordinarily painful. Which is why, instead of admitting we were wrong, we often become masters of delusion and start rationalizing our behavior… But feedback is one of the most useful and powerful tools we have for improvement and it’s not going away. So instead of continuing to throw up that defensive shield, listen to today’s episode for some strategies and tools that will help you receive feedback in a more constructive way.  We also cover:  The science behind why we respond poorly to feedback  Why rationalizing doesn’t help & how to stop doing it What to say you’ve received feedback you don’t understand or agree with When it’s appropriate to reject someone’s feedback  Related Resources:  E194: How To Become A Better Listener E127: How To Give The Most Effective Feedback E85: Why Won’t They Listen To Me?
