This week on the podcast long overdue. I'm so excited to sit down with Heather Hying

Heather is a scientist educator and author. She earned her PhD in biology from the University of Michigan where she earned the university's top honor for her dissertation

On top of that she has a BA in anthropology which is the study of human societies and behavior

She has researched the evolution of social systems across a range of organisms including humans and her book

Antipode is based on her experiences in Madagascar while studying the sex lives of poison frogs

She's also just a wonderful human and friend. I'm with Heather Hying everyone in case you didn't already

How is your podcast going you still do the dark horse, right? It's going. It's it's going well. I can't complain you know this uh, yeah, we are

We are some of the relatively rare lucky ones who have been doing well through this chaos right and so I feel I feel

People seem to really turn to you and brought for a reason and for just kind of fair-minded analysis on things and I think

One of the problems the biggest problems I even see it with this with the for instance vaccine passport

Is they'll take the craziest person who might be against something and then straw man that as everybody who's got any maybe reasonable doubts or questions about something

And one of the things that I've noticed in this crazy culture war just from people emailing me

Is there's not much of a stopgap once you open your eyes and say oh maybe not everything the media is telling me is true

Maybe there's a bias and then next thing you know you're like and did you know that there were tunnels going under the Hollywood ball

Then they're drinking the blood of children

And you guys actually seem to be one of the um like do not go all the way to

You're one of the like checkpoints in between where people oh if they can find you

I feel like they're like okay, okay
