0:08.1	My name is Matt Jay, and on this show, we're here to share our experience, strength, and hope, recovering from addiction.
0:14.9	Now, we don't speak for any 12-step group, but we do try to remain anonymous.
0:19.1	And this is the first episode.
0:21.8	And if you think you might have a problem with alcohol or any other type of substance,
0:27.3	well, you've come to the right place.
0:28.6	If you're sober, you just want to hear other people talk about their sobriety.

0:35.7	And I'm an alcoholic.
0:43.8	I've been sober since March 21st, 2014, two days after my youngest was born.
0:46.6	And I'm going to tell you a little about me. I did a fan show of another podcast for the last two years.
0:50.5	We were pretty successful.
0:52.4	We were making money.
0:53.6	We were making more money than I was spending
0:56.1	out. And some things happened on that podcast that made me feel it was time to stand on my own two feet
1:02.0	and do something that will impact the community really in a positive way. I didn't want to be
1:08.6	tied to just being a fan show. And if the other
1:12.4	podcast went one way or if the host got pissed off at me, I didn't want that to drive whether
1:19.3	the show was going to be successful or not. So if I branch out on my own and do my own podcast,
1:24.6	I might have nobody listening. Maybe I do, maybe I don't, but I know that I'm going to land on my own two feet.
1:31.4	And I also wanted to fit the need that wasn't being met around recovery and addiction,
1:38.0	places like how to get sober and alcoholics effect on the family.
