This is the baseball tonight podcast for Friday, March 15, 2024 and today will be

better than yesterday and while we have a lot to discuss about what happened yesterday over the last 48 hours,

a huge trade. Dylan Cease is dealt by the Chicago White Sox who knew he's going to be traded, but he's been

dealt to the San Diego Padres, getting the starting pitcher that they need. A huge injury has sent reverberations throughout the sport.

Garrett Cole is going to miss a chunk of time at the very least,

and there is concern in the Yankees organization that he could be out for a very long time.

Another huge injury, one of the baseball's best relievers, is out indefinitely. We'll tell you about that. Blake Snell and Jordan Montgomery still unsigned. The Padres and Dodgers have taken off for Korea to prepare

for next week's season openers. A little bit to discussion, huh? Just a little bit. Just a little bit.

It's incredible how much action there's going on right now as we come down the

wire and also just before we started taping a podcast the Atlanta brave signed Adam Duval to play the

outfield they told Jared Kellnick that he's going to be a platoon player. So maybe based on what the brave saw this spring in Jared Kellnick and he's had some struggles, convinced them, you know what, let's go get a right-handed

hitting platoon guy who can compliment what Kellnick does.

In addition, Adam DuBald is regarded as a good out fielder. I mentioned that Padres

trades they dealt to the Chicago White Sox through Thorpe who's the number four

ranked prospect in the

public system and three other prospects folks with other teams are telling me it was a good return for the Chicago White Sox for Dylan

Cies who's coming off a down year last year.

And now the Padres will have a rotation

that includes Dylan Cease, Joe Musgrove,

U Darvish, and Michael King.

Of course, Michael King is one of the pictures that they got back in that deal with the New York Yankees.
