If we are to live out, I believe, the fullness of the new life in Christ.

If we are to really live as new creations, then it begins with the knowledge of that fact

that I am not what I used to be.

I am new, and I have to know that to begin with.

Our text for today, Romans chapter 6, is one of the most

doctrinally rich passages in all of scripture.

Yesterday John examined the Apostle Paul's logical argument.

It's really a legal argument explaining why

and how Christians can lead holy lives.

If there's anything that God wants from His people,

it is that they be holy.

Peter, in his first epistle,

made that abundantly clear when he quoted God

as saying, be ye holy for I am holy.
