I'm Steve Day. He is Todd Erzen. He is Aaron McIntyre as we continue on throwback Jersey

Week. It's a perennial occasion on this show, which is basically just an excuse for me to

wear sports jerseys and not real clothes wearing the berry sanders throwback on the program

today. And it's kind of symbolic to be wearing it on July 28th because it's not just my birthday,

but on July 28th, 1999. Thank you. On July 28th, I was very awkward. You did it. I did.

But that wasn't to fish for that. I was making a point. On just awkwardly interrupted.

And now I'm completely thrown off on July 28th, 1999. I woke up to some of the worst

news of my life. The Detroit Lions opened up training camp that day. And berry sanders

sent them a facts. Remember those? Aaron's like, what is a facts? Right? You remember those,

right? No. The berry sanders sent them a facts announcing his retirement on my birthday.

I was so despondent. So absolutely despondent. I waited for 40 minutes on hold to call

into the fabulous sports babeshow to get veg. Do you remember the fabulous sports

babes by ESPN radio, Todd? I do. Do you remember that program? I did. I waited on hold

for like a half an hour to get in to Kovetsch. I was inconsolable at this news. And you

know, I don't know where the fabulous sports babes today, but to her credit, she did attempt

to patronize me accordingly for my despondency. So today is the, that would be what the 23rd

anniversary of that forsaken event. And I think just in the last couple of years, I have

been able to forgive berry sanders for it. Oh, you know what they say? Thanks. Don't

care about your feelings. That's right. It took me a while. But I decided to go ahead

and extend forgiveness to berry sanders for doing that to me on my birthday. The nicest

classiest guy, perhaps ever in pro football. And I held like a 15 year grudge.
