Summary
1001 Heroes, Legends, Histories & Mysteries podcast rips the cover off the politically correct version of the American Indian fighting only to protect his lands from white encroachment., as we look into the unholy alliance between the Iroquois nation and the British power brokers trying to stamp out American independence during the American Revolution between 1775 and 1783. Part one begins with Lord Chatham's now famous speech to the House of Commons in 1777 expressing his shock and sadness that the once honorable British army was using and encouraging Indian atrocities- including scalping and cannibalism-against the colonists- and he, correctly assessing the outcome early in this war, was asking for a peace before it was too late, He states that England had no chance of winning that war. Also discussed in part one- Sir William Johnson and his successor, white and Indian problems and mistakes, two captive accounts, one from Ft. Niagara, raids and skirmishes in 1777-78, setting the stage for part two with the Massacre at Wyoming (Pennsylvania), the Massacre at Cherry Valley, and the atrocities of the Tories and Indians across the frontier.
