And yesterday we previewed the Lakers' defense against Minnesota's offense with a focus on guarding Anthony Edwards and Julius Randall. Today, we are going to flip the court and talk about the Lakers on

offense with Minnesota on defense. And they've got a few more cards to play on defense

than they do on offense, D. But the main one that they'd love to play, if they had their

druthers, they would be in a drop coverage. And a drop coverage, the nature of it is kind of the

opposite of the style of the Lakers play now, of this switching

containment, keep you in front type of defense, where it's more of a, we're trying to funnel

you to this awesome rim protector that we have on this backline and have as many possessions

as possible with you trying to shoot over this great shot blocker while feeling back

pressure from a defender that has great length

behind you. That is how Minnesota would like to play. But as JJ Reddick famously said,

drop against Luca is death. And so let's start there, Dee. Why does Reddick say that? Why is

drop death against Luca? So I think mainly Pete, Luca is one of the best pick and roll practitioners in the entire league.

Any aspect of pick and roll offense as a ball handler that you can think of,

Luca has essentially mastered it.

He's been playing this style his entire life.
