await. So settle in, let go and let the world drift quietly away before we get into the story.

This is just a little sleepy interruption.

Far from the shoreline, where the world softens into a quiet blue and silver, a small sailboat rocks gently on a calm, open sea.

The sails are tied, the rope slack, the boat is adrift by choice, no urgency,

no course, just floating where the tide leads, wrapped in the warm hush of a balmy evening.

The air is soft against your skin. It carries the salty tang of the sea and the faintest floral

node from a distant island breeze. The boat creaks gently, familiar and comforting as it rests

on the wide blue cradle of the ocean. Around you, the horizon is dotted with silhouettes of islands.

Dark hills rising from the water like sleeping giants.

Their shapes softened by dusk.

Some are dense with jungle. Others are crowned with palms, waving lazily in the slow

tropical wind. You lie back on a cushioned bench at the stern of the boat. A woven blanket rests

over your legs, warm from the sun. The last light of day melts into the water,

casting everything in shades of violet and deep gold. The sun has slipped just below the edge of the

sea, and in its wake, the sky blossoms with stars.

One by one, constellations begin to reveal themselves.

First, the bold arc of the Southern Cross,

tilting toward the horizon.
