exciting day here in New York City but I can't you know it's weird every time

something big happens in Kentucky for some reason I'm gone so like the biggest

events in Louisville the last five years probably the biggest one since the

all these protests was the Muhammad Ali funeral and I happened to be gone

then as well it's like all these events gets end up taking place right when I

get out of town I'll try not to act like there's any symbolism in that but I

want to talk to somebody who is one of my favorite people and who lives they are

in Louisville Ricky Jones he's a professor of is it pan-African studies is

that how the the department's called Ricky correct pan-African that's all

African yeah yeah at University of Louisville and I appreciate you taking the

time to join us anytime for you brother you know that you're one of my favorite

reading what you put out some of what you put out on Twitter last night and you

wrote to all of you coming at me about race right now I'm cool with helping but

I'm not Harry Potter you said that on my show I do not have a magic wand I'm not

seeking the mantle of leadership of black Louisville so I'm not inclined to be

at every protest press conference or a pine on every single happening I'm

consistent I've been here talking about these issues forever and a day and then

you say other things as well but I found that very interesting because I'll be

honest with you Ricky when all this was going on and and and you and I talk a

lot you and I don't just talk when something happens but I sort of wondered why
