I'm going to start with a weird question.

What does amputating limbs day in, day out teach you about health?

Our guest today is my friend and functional medicine practitioner Dr. Justin Markagiani.

He experienced the shortcomings of conventional medicine firsthand in kind of a morbid way.

He actually began his career in the surgical ward assisting with limb amputations.

He was actually the guy holding limbs as they chopped them off.

He realized that there had to be a better way.

Then he basically took his career in a different direction, decided to practice functional medicine

down the road.

It's all about preventative medicine, alternative healing, and a lot of times you can do that

with good old fashioned nutrition, fitness, and proper sleep and lifestyle factors.

We're going to be talking about that today and I know you're going to like it.
