Since then, the virus has killed more than 400,000 people and infected over 25 million across the country.

Communities of color, blacks, indigenous people, Latinos, and Latinos have been disproportionately affected when it comes to both deaths and infections.

There has been so much about this pandemic that in my opinion has been an accelerator in that it has highlighted and magnified what was wrong before and made it worse.

49% of Latino households have seen job losses or pay cuts in this pandemic. Latinos who still have a job face increased exposure to the virus because only 16% can work from home.

Right now in the state of New Mexico, Native Americans account for 23% of COVID cases, 41% of COVID deaths, but they only make up 10% of the state's population.

This is inequality that needs to be responded to immediately.

Former President Donald Trump created Operation Warp Speed last May with the chief goal of developing and distributing a vaccine which didn't arrive until December.
