But Dr. Daniel Black brought gospel music to the forefront in this discussion about culture.

What's up? Good, good. Thank you for taking my call. This is again, awesome, awesome

conversation.

And Dr. Black, I want to point out something to you that you mentioned in the first

segment of the first power.

You mentioned Aretha Franklin.

I grew up thanks to my sister and my late mama, you know, being introduced by her. But it wasn't until I got

older that I understood, fully understood who she was, you know, never mind the fact that, you know,

she grew up, you know, in the church with Reverend C.L. Franklin. But it wasn't until I listened for the first time in its entirety to the 1972

Amazing Grace album where I was like, okay, I got it.

I got it now.

And so fast forward from that.

And you also mentioned other gospel artists too, like the whining.
