I have got so much good news for you who feel that you are unfavored in your sphere of life,

of work, of community, of faith, perhaps, in your church, whatever it may be.

But if you just feel like you are completely looked over for whatever reason, that somehow

the favor of God appears to be on everybody else but you, and you feel like nothing ever comes

your way, you're a really great candidate for a mighty work of God. Would you turn with me please as you are seated to Acts chapter one, Acts chapter one.

I'm going to read you verses 6 through 14 and it will just be

to set the stage.

So when they had come together, they asked him, and it's the Lord Jesus, Lord, are you restoring

the kingdom of Israel at this time?

He's been raised from the dead. He's been with them for a period of 40 days, and he's been speaking about the kingdom.

So this is a very, very natural question for them to ask.

It says in verse 7, he said to them,

it is not for you to know times or periods that the Father has set by his own authority.

But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come on you, and you will be my

witnesses in Jerusalem and all Judea and Samaria and to the end of the earth.

After he said this, he was taken up as they were watching.

So they're on the Mount of Olives.

We find that out a little further in the chapter.

He is taken up literally.

His feet come off the top of that mountain, and he begins ascending before their very eyes.

Now, they have seen him do a lot of things, but this is a new one.

Listen, we think we know everything Jesus can do, and then his feet lift off a mountain. Anybody? Anybody? And it says that
