You know, over the years, there's been a lot of discussion about the subject of the Antichrist is author Doug Woodward.

Hi Gary.

Great to be with you once again.

It is always good to talk with you because you're bubbling with ideas and concerning

the Antichrist, you're basically in your book, mistaken identity reacting to much of the

conversation that's taken place about the Antichrist from years ago right up to the present date.

That's right. Yeah, really for the last 20 years or so, we've seen, I would say, kind of a reset of what is the sort of standard in terms of Bible prophecy.

And it's my perspective that perhaps as much as half of those that study prophecy have

been persuaded by what I call the Islamic Antichrist theory, that the Antichrist will in fact be a Muslim.

And there's a whole slew of ideas, I won't call them doctrines, but necessarily just attributes

or points about what does that mean if we say that the Antichrist is Islamic? Now you were telling

me before we came on the air today that a couple or three things happened in the Middle East

that sort of made it possible to label

the Antichrist as Islamic. And it'd be good, I think, to review those things and bring us up to date.

Right. The ideas kind of, they sort of were planted, the seeds were sort of the demise of the Soviet Union, the fact that

all of a sudden Russia is no longer the big bear that it once was, right? And so as we move

towards the new century, you have these new ideas saying, well who is then the heavy in Bible prophecy?

If it's not, you know, Russia as Gog, who is Gog?

And so there was a movement, just as our own sort of geopolitical point of view of the United States became,

well, now it's, you know, NATO's shift is likewise to terrorism, Muslim terrorism.

There was this reset to think in terms of, well, the Antichrist must be a Muslim.

It must be a terrorist.
