Double V, how you guys doing today? Doing great, Darrell. How are you? Awesome. So you're joining us from Oklahoma City. We're going to talk about your new album, Parascope at Midnight. You have a new single that's actually coming out today. This is June 27th when we're talking. You've had several different releases out and doing very

well. Really cool music. I was checking out the new music and it's really fun. It's kind of

how would you guys describe the music? I'll let you do it. No, no, no. Rather hear what you think.

Yeah. For me, it was of all like they say i'll pop

but that kind of covers a lot of different things but it's very story driven to me is what it felt

like so right i think yeah you hit the nail on the head with that that we both have a kind of cinematic

sensibilities and i think that's probably the the driving feeling behind all of the new songs you know, it's an EP so they can be a little different and kind of a hodgepodge, which is one of the things we like about that format that you don't have to be like a little needs to be completely cohesive. Yeah, you don't have to be. And that's something too, like for me when I interview people, I'm like, I don't like to throw titles on them. I'd rather than describe what they do because all pop is a, it's a really broad brush, right? It's true. Yeah. Yeah. We've heard various things about our music that. I mean, some of it sounds like children's music that isn't for kids is one we heard. So, yeah know you um alan you had a placement before in your previous band that's a starlight meant i think was the band um and in this tv show wednesday and you actually i know you no no that was a that was us actually oh that was you together okay awesome awesome that was uh your love isn't real

off of our last uh full link so awesome 22 right so i was gonna because i was gonna i was gonna

i was quite a lot of placements and other other things with starlight meant so that's probably

where right yeah it gets a little confusing like um but cool yeah because i was gonna say actually

that's something that struck me about your music is it, it's very like TV show, movie friendly. And, and when you guys are writing, like, what's your kind of goal? Did you, do you, I guess you obviously write together. Um, are you kind of shooting for a concept album or are you doing kind of singles or what's how's you how do you guys approach

that i think right now it's singles i mean right that was the approach for this one it was really just

getting back into creating music together after taking a little bit of a meant to focus on some health

issues so really just you know just being grateful to get to get

back in the studio and just finish kind of one song at a time. And as we kept working at, it's

like, well, you know, we would want to release these as a collection of some sort and ultimately

stopped at six. Right. Here we are. Well, six is a good number.

Do you find that, yeah, we talked a little bit about, before we started about the single thing and Spotify, do you kind of feel like that's an avenue, like how a lot of

people are doing it these days, releasing singles first, building into an album?

It's definitely how people are doing it now, whether that's, I mean.
