execution style in the middle of a bitter custody battle following his divorce from Wendy Adelson.

Prosecutors say that Wendy's mother, Donna Adelson, the matriarch of a powerful South Florida family, became the architect of a deadly conspiracy.

Emails and recordings revealed Donna's obsession with relocating Wendy and her two young sons to Miami.

The only obstacle in the way was Dan Markell.

She allegedly enlisted her son Charlie Adelson who recruited intermediary and lover Catherine McBanowa to hire hit men.

Now over a decade later, Donna Adelson at age 75 is on trial facing charges of first-degree murder,

conspiracy, and solicitation accused of orchestrating a murder for hire plot born of custody and control.

Wendy denies any involvement and has not been charged.
