Okay today friends, we're diving back into John chapter 13 verse number one.

So we're moving into a new chapter where it's one of those markers kind of feels good

to see your progress.

And so here we are, John chapter 13 verse number one.

And John the author is giving us a little bit of description of what's going on in the

circumstances surrounding Jesus movements.

And here's what he says, now before the feast of the Passover, when Jesus knew that his

hour had come to depart out of the world to the Father, having loved his own who were

in the world, he loved them to the end.

So this is kind of an awkward sentence, the way it is in English, but let's just unpack

it for a moment.

This Jewish feast called Passover, which was a memorialization of God's deliverance of

Israel from Egypt.

If you've heard the story of Moses and all the plagues and those things that happened,

that's the story.
