It's like 18 degrees here instead of seven. Yeah, right, Yeah. Exactly right. And there's like, we've talked about this like, but being by the water to add something to it. Right. There's like a dampness in the air that just feels like it just seeps through your bones and your skin when you're out there in Chicago. But again, good football weekend. And then, of course, we're going to actually get into what the hell happened last weekend, specifically with Josh Allen and C.J. Stroud, so some of the shortcomings of them. But I think we start with the coaching, Karrisle, Chris, because now you have the point where it does become a little bit of a stare down. at Harbaugh, we knew he was going to be the bell of the ball and the Giants pounced on him. The Falcons after that went right after Stefansky. But now you have teams that know if they're, you know, like a lot of people yesterday were like, do the Titans now pivot to McDermott? And I think they played it safe and went, no, let's get our guy that we've been chasing all along here in Robert's solid. And the Dolphins, it feels like for a while now, especially after the hiring of the GM, John Eric Sullivan from Green Bay, it feels like they were after Hathley for a while. They probably just needed Troy Aikman to really come in and go, you know what, I agree. Like this Hathley guy, he can coach. there's no doubt about that. If you've ever met, I like the hire, no doubt about it, right?

Right. come in and go, you know what, I agree. Like this Halfley guy, he can coach. There's no doubt about that. If you've ever met, I like the hire, no doubt about it, right? Jeff Halfley, if you've ever been around him, you ever met him in your life, he is head coach material as far as how he talks, how he leads men. When I watch what he does on defense, I certainly think he's worthy of being a head coach, right? He's one of the top decalers in the league, and I know he's only done it for two years in the NFL, but there's two things that always jump out to me about his defense. He can be simple and sound, and they could play it that way, and they didn't have the best cover corners in Green Bay this year, and I think that really hurt some of what he wanted to do. But also, you know I'm always kind of big into game plan specific and he can do that as well, right? The big thing with Jeff Hathley here would be, and a lot of these de-coordinators that become head coaches is, did they have an eye for a good offensive mind, right? that's the big question. And we'll see about that.

I tend to believe Jeff Hathley will, having been up in the NFC North, knowing, whoa, I played Kevin O'Connell four times the last year, Ben Johnson, I had a deal with him. My own coach Matt LaFleur knows some football in offense, right? So I would think he's got an eye there, but when you're talking about there was,

you know, as of yesterday, eight spots wide open in the head coaching carousel, like Jeff Halfley definitely is a top eight candidate to where you go, he should get one of these spots.

And I think you're right in connecting the dots there between the Green Bay GM and everything there makes sense. Good hire for them. And happy for Jeff Hathley. My next question is going to be, and of course they have to make the offensive coordinator higher before we really see this. But are they going to be the team that goes after Malik Willis in free agency? That's going to be the big, that's right. The connections are there. Exactly right. They're going to need a quarterback. now they're going to be dealing with two as cap hit, but we know how teams going to be the big, that's, right. The connections are there. Exactly right. You know, when you look at the quarterback spots. And I haven't heard anything about anything there as far as offensive guys that could come on him to this point. So I got no information to shed on that one there.

Well, there's a huge hang up with that right now. Yeah. The top offensive coordinators are all still in the running. They're still hoping they're going to still get a job. So they're not going to commit to being anybody's OC until they finally get the final verdict to go, all right, I'm not going to be a head coach, right? whether it's, you know, Mike McDaniel and some of those guys, right?

Brian Dable is sought after right now. Exactly, right. Well, we're getting to a point here like we've talked about. I think we laid this out a lot. The coaching candidates aren't like last year. There's only a few coordinators out there that you look at and go, ooh, I think he's a head coaching material. Right. Is there, was there eight of them? I don't know. But I think we're seeing here, Halfly certainly deserving of that, impressive in the interviews. Green Bay knew what he was made of. The new GM knew what he was made of. And then with on top of that, and I know we're going to discuss this in a second with Tennessee and Sala. I think they're kind of looking at the same way. Like, wait, do we want to go first time coach?

We just did first time coach. It didn't work very well. We know this guy has been in a winning organization with the 49ers. He's going to get our defense right. There's no denying that. And again, it's going to go into the same conversation a little bit here with Robert Sala is just the O.C. And who he picks there to kind of further Cam Ward and bring him along in the next phase of his career here. And that's the other big hire that came down in the pipeline in the last 24 hours. Robert Sala, a five-year contract from the Tennessee Titans. So Sala gets his second chance after just a year away from being head coach.
