Now I know I say almost every week I got a great one for you and I do believe it when I say

it, but sometimes the great ones are a little greater than the others.

This week an American icon, Dolly Parton.

I'm not going to waste your time with a big roll up to who she is, what she means to

American culture, what she means to music around the world.

She is just Dolly.

Just by way of quick background, she and I have interviewed many times down at Dollywood

and Pigeon Forge Tennessee, her sprawling theme park and entertainment complex.

This time we couldn't sit down together because of COVID-19, of course.

So we got together over Zoom and yes, it's mid November, but when Dolly Parton says it's

the holiday season, it is the holiday season.

So just to give you a visual, she's sitting in front of a Christmas tree.

She's got some beautiful sort of gold decorations and ornaments next to her.

I did my best putting some twinkly lights from Ace Hardware on the bush outside my window

and I found a green shirt.

So that was my holiday spirit in mid November.

We're in that spirit because she's got a new holiday album, a new Christmas movie on Netflix

and then there's this incredible big coffee table book that is really turned through the

pages of her career and tells the backstory on all those famous songs that you love.
