Jen, you almost made the New York City mayoral election process understandable.

I'm still taking notes on some of the whole ranked choice thing.

What did I miss?

It's you have to live through it to understand it, I think. You have to actually go through that

ranked choice process and discover that the one who got the most votes on the first day doesn't end up as the one who has the most votes when all the ranked choices interact.

And we're going to see what happens. We are. It's an interesting one.

It really is.

And of course, Eric Adams has thrown the election into chaos.

An incumbent Democratic mayor in New York City should be the frontrunner for re-election easily, normally.

That is, if they haven't been charged with federal crimes

and then pardoned in effect, pardoned directly actually by Donald Trump.

And so that's the big reason why this campaign has been as strange as it's been.

And we'll see who of these two emerges.

We probably won't know until next week, but they could also both run still because they both have party lines to run on.

So we may still see all of these characters around for another couple of months.

That just made it even crazier.

And with ranked choice voting, we have seen people move up from lower down the rungs there in the end.

So who knows?
