Summary

The Justice Department released horrifying new police body camera video from the Capitol hill insurrection on January 6. The video shows a man, who is being charged with seven federal crimes, screaming profanities at officers, threateningly wielding a flagpole and rushing at officers. Sandra Garza’s life partner, Capitol Police Officer Brian Sicknick, was injured while physically engaging with the rioters and later died after he collapsed. Garza tells Anderson Cooper “this is not loving America.” Plus, Sen. Joe Manchin, a key Democratic vote in a 50-50 Senate, has said he’s opposed to the For the People Act in its current form but released a proposal of his own. His compromises include making Election Day a holiday, banning gerrymandering, mandating at least 15 consecutive days of early voting and instituting a voter ID requirement that includes a utility bill as an alternative. 0:32.6	day and we're gonna play it for you uncut. It's brutal and it's ugly and it
0:37.2	contains profanity and as you watch it remember the majority of Republicans in
0:41.2	Congress do not want a full investigation into this and some have even said
0:45.7	publicly that what you're about to see didn't actually happen.
1:45.7	These are people carrying Trump flags and Confederate battle flags overrunning a
1:53.9	police line outside the Capitol Trump supporters violent ones. People
1:57.8	willing to beat and trample members of law enforcement. People willing to
2:01.0	assault police officers once they got inside. This too is new video. It's a
2:05.7	different angle and footage you probably already seen of one officer getting
2:08.5	crushed in a doorway. This is what is now being whitewashed and the denial is now
2:13.5	so deep among the GOP that 21 House Republicans could not these folks could not
2:18.7	even bring themselves to vote for legislation honoring the men and women for
2:22.8	the bravery they showed and the sacrifices they made in defending them on that
