And today we're going to have Howie Stern on the show. Howie Stern has been running

Ultras since 1999. Since then, he's completed some of the toughest Ultras in the United States,

including seven finishes at Hardrock, eight finishes at Angelie's Crest 100. Howie is known

for his two dogs, Mickey and Joey, as well as being a trail running dirt bag as of late.

What kind of dogs? Joey is a Siberian Husky.

Yeah, and he's about 12 and then Mickey's a Alaskan Malamy. She's seven.

Did they get to come out and run with you much? I guess 12-year-old, that's tough to get

out and run the miles. You need to run, right?

No, you know, when we were out training for Hardrock, me and Billy Simpson were out in

Winavista for a week. And for that week, the dogs probably ran 50 or 60 miles of it.

And I know they did 514ers in that week. Wow, a 12-year-old? Yeah, that's a good

In fact, one of the days he did four in a day. Wow.
