And you know the phrase, Houston, we have a problem?

Well, it's actually a misquote from the Apollo 13 mission. Jack Swaggart.

He was the command module pilot that reported back to mission control about an explosion on board,

and he said, okay, Houston, we've had a problem here. When Jack was asked to repeat himself by mission

control, Jim Lovell, the mission

commander stepped in and said, uh, Houston, we've had a problem. And then when Tom Hanks

starred in Apollo 13 in 1995, they changed the phrase to Houston, we have a problem. Because

the director felt like it was more intense,

more dramatized than the past tense version of the quote. Well, many, many people in Houston

are currently feeling like they've got a problem. And the stifling of those fears by local leadership?

Well, it doesn't seem to be helping the problem.

Maybe the phrase should be, Houston, we've got a serial killer.
